This site was created for the #newwwyear challange. I knew I wanted to recreate it in vue, with a new theme.
After a few back and forth interations, I came up with this. You can check out my old site to compare the two.
The main content of my site didn't change much in style or content. The largest set of updates, outside of the under the hood change from angular to vue, were the updates to the space scene.
This Space Scene similar to the one on the previous iteration of this site, uses the current time, weather, and how often you've visited to create a scene that's unique for you.

I’m a queer Trinidadian-American cisgender woman of color. I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Etsy in New York, and I’ve been active in the engineering world for over 6 years.
I was lucky enough to have a supportive mother, who got me thalida.com for my 16th birthday. It was one of the best gifts I’ve ever received, and is the reason I've become the developer I am today.
I now work with an amazing team during the day, and in the wee hours of the night I hack away at one of my many side projects. I'm always looking for a coding buddy, so if you're interested, get in touch! hello@thalida.com
I’m generally full of questions, and bubble tea.

This week the spotlight is on Thalida Noel, whose path to becoming a front-end engineer includes robotics, NASA, OkCupid, and now Etsy.

One of the most consequential issues affecting young people is also the most ignored.
Check out my designs and get a preview of the projects I'm currently working on.
